Our Moments
case study
Our Moments is a new wedding venue website that aims to provide a unique photo-sharing experience for couples getting married. The website will feature a curated selection of wedding venues, as well as various photo-sharing features to allow couples to capture and share their special moments with their loved ones. The website will have a user-friendly interface and responsive design to ensure optimal viewing on both desktop and mobile devices.
Project Overview
The problem: Busy bride wants to have a photo-sharing website so she can invite and share the cherished moments with their beloved ones
The goal: Design an app for Our Moments to make it easy for couples to find and book a beautiful and functional wedding venue, as well as to share their special moments with loved ones through the photo-sharing feature.
My role: UX designer designing an app for Our Moments from conception to delivery
Responsibilities:
Conduct user research to understand the needs and behaviors of couples planning weddings.
Design user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to improve the user experience of the website.
Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies to continuously improve the website's user experience.
Persona: Kyla White
Kyla is a very busy bride-to-be who needs a user-friendly photo-sharing solution because she wants to easily invite her wedding guests to contribute and share her cherished memories for years to come.
User research: summary
Through conducting interviews and creating empathy maps, I gained an understanding of the users I am designing for and their needs. Among the primary user group identified during research were couples who are busy planning their weddings.
Our user research for Our Moments wedding venue website has revealed that couples are looking for a platform to share and relive their special moments with their family and friends. They want a seamless experience where they can easily upload and share photos with their loved ones. Additionally, they are looking for a website that provides comprehensive information about the venue, packages, and services offered. The website should be easy to navigate, visually appealing, and offer a user-friendly interface.
Paper wireframes
Drafting multiple iterations of each app screen on paper helped ensure that the final digital wireframes effectively addressed user pain points.
When designing the home screen, my priority was to provide users with a simple and speedy way to view the options and create a photo album.
Because Our Moments customers access the site from different devices, I started to work on designs for additional screen sizes to make sure the site would be fully responsive.
Digital wireframes
Throughout the initial design phase, I ensured that the screen designs were based on the feedback and discoveries obtained from the user research.
Low-Fidelity Prototype
Upon completion of the digital wireframes, I developed a low-fidelity prototype that focused on the primary user flow of creating a photo album and view different services. This prototype was specifically designed to be utilized in a usability study.

Usability study: findings
Navigation: Test participants found the website's navigation to be intuitive and easy to use. They were able to find what they were looking for quickly and efficiently.
Photo-sharing feature: Participants were impressed by the photo-sharing feature and found it to be a unique and valuable aspect of the website. However, some participants noted that they would like to see more options for adding contribute and downlo the photos.
Contact forms: The contact forms on the website were generally well-received, with participants finding them easy to use and straightforward. However, some participants suggested adding a confirmation message after submitting a form to provide reassurance that their inquiry had been received.
Mockups:
Based on the insights of the study, I made some changes to improve the site experience. One of the changes I made was adding the download/share/add contribute options for user to invite their beloved ones to add more photos from their sides
Key Mockups:
High-Fidelity Prototype
The high-fidelity prototype that was eventually developed featured cleaner user flows, particularly when it came to adding a photo and completing the inquiry form. It also has a confirmation pop-up to provide reassurance that their inquiry had been received.

Accessibility considerations
Alternative Text: Provide alternative text descriptions for all images in the app, so that visually impaired users can use screen readers to understand the content.
Clear Text and Typography: Use clear, easy-to-read text and typography throughout the app.
Consistent Layout and Navigation: Maintain a consistent layout and navigation structure throughout the app, to help users with cognitive or memory impairments find and use features consistently.
Impact:
Improve user experience: Our Moments needs to focus on enhancing the overall user experience of the website by making it more intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
Expand venue partnerships: Partnering with more wedding venues will help increase the number of options available to users and address the pain point of limited availability.
Incorporate more personalized features: Personalization is a key factor for couples when planning their wedding. Our Moments can consider incorporating more personalized features such as customized packages, personalized recommendations, and a personalized dashboard.
What I learned:
As I worked on developing the Our Moments website, I gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of remaining open-minded and flexible throughout the design process. I realized that in order to create a truly user-centered and effective website, it was essential to be receptive to feedback and willing to make changes based on user needs and pain points.
I learned to value the input of my peers, whose constructive feedback enabled me to incorporate features and functionalities that catered to the users' needs and pain points more effectively.
As a UX designer, this experience was a valuable reminder that the design process is an ongoing and collaborative effort. By constantly seeking feedback and being willing to make changes, we can create products that truly meet the needs and desires of our users.
